When are Winterhalter Music teachers available for lessons?

We have teachers that teach seven days a week. Availability depends on when a teacher that is a good match has open time slots. Contact us for our most up to date availability.

How long are the lessons, and how often do they take place?

Most students have a weekly, 30 minute lesson. Younger students often have 15 minute lessons, and older or more advanced students often choose to have lessons for 45 minutes or an hour.

What qualifications do your teachers have?

Winterhalter Music teachers are exceptionally talented musicians who are passionate about sharing their love of music with their students. Prospective teachers are carefully vetted with multiple interviews, at least 3 references, and a background check. Most teachers have music degrees and experience teaching prior to joining our studio, and all go through training with Cassie. Most importantly, all our teachers share a warm and positive teaching style. Read our teachers’ bios here!

When is my child old enough to start lessons?

Winterhalter Music offers full 30 minute lessons for students beginning at age four. Occasionally, even younger students begin with a 15 minute lesson or just a few minutes taken from an older sibling’s lesson time.  After meeting with a young student our teachers can assess and recommend a proper lesson length.

What ages and ability levels do you teach?

We have students in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as adult students.  Our students range from beginners to intermediate to advanced players.

What type of music do you teach?

All students are taught the fundamentals of note reading and proper technique.  Beyond that, students learn to play the music that interests them the most.

What if we don’t have a piano?  Is it ok to start on a keyboard?

Yes! Many students begin learning on keyboards. We would be happy to let you know our opinion of the keyboard you own or advise you on the type of keyboard to purchase and where you might buy one.

If your piano requires tuning or repair, we will happily refer you to a recommended company.
